WHY ARISE? 

Women are passionate, strong and nurturing creatures, created in the image of God. We are daughters of the King, fulfilling many roles in society-- wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, business women and housewives. Often, our true identity and worth is overshadowed by the multitude of roles we have to play, causing us to lose focus of who we are as women. We carry many burdens that accompany each role and often succumb to broken relationships, depression, bad habits, regretful decisions, financial burdens, and unforgiveness of ourselves. 


The Arise Challenge calls for women to arise and breakout of their comfort zones to discover God intimately. Arise is an international movement of women who love to challenge, grow and live powerfully. We create places, journeys and encounters, full of inspiration, where we can restore our worth and identity in Christ. Together, we discover new outlooks for our lives and descend to the depths of our hearts and souls. We search for God's destination for our lives, sometimes crying and sometimes laughing - it's all possible and it's all allowed -- raw, pure, and real! Dressed with faith, hope, courage and maturity, women can return to where God placed us to live out our true identity and make a lasting contribution to transformation in this world. 


Arise was founded in 2015 as a complement to the men’s international 4M XCC movement. Today, the Arise Challenge is held in ten countries globally.

Finish:  1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 13, 2026




Transportation:  Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event.

FAQ'S

  • Who can join an Arise Challenge?

    The Arise Challenge is for women ages 18 and up. There are no bunk beds or hot showers. It’s you, the women on your team, the group at large, the wilderness, and your Creator. 


    While the Arise Challenge is designed for women to finish, it is not easy. It is not a retreat where women sit around the fire in a cozy lodge. Women will walk a considerable distance carrying their backpacks and sleep in a tent. We will struggle together! We will endure together! We will celebrate together! And we will find inspiration for our hearts.


    You will need to prepare physically for the Arise Challenge.

    • Walk or jog several times a week. Increase your distance each week in order to walk/run several miles at one time.
    • Do squats, lunges, and planks occasionally.
    • Walk stairs or hills occasionally. 
    • Consider wearing your pack while taking on normal chores around the house. Your kids might be embarrassed but this provides a great opportunity to share why this weekend is important to you.
    • Find a friend to help you train and keep you accountable. 

    As noted, an Arise Challenge is not easy; however, do not be fearful of the physical aspect of the Arise Challenge. Simply prepare your heart, mind, and body. 

  • What do I need to bring?

    Pack ONLY according to the specific Arise Packing List. Only two bags are allowed - your daypack and your larger backpack/duffle. 


    We do not want an Arise Challenge to cause any financial stress or hardship. You will want a good-fitting pair of hiking shoes and a good daypack. They do not need to be expensive, just suitable. We encourage women to borrow or share certain equipment. Practice setting up and taking down your tent before the weekend.


    Jewelry and makeup are not needed on an Arise Challenge. 


    Watches, cell phones, and other electronic devices are not allowed  in order to provide a distraction-free weekend!

  • What are the travel logistics?

    Participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event. Note event Start/Finish times above.

    Indiana Arise Challenge: 

    • Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF), Louisville, KY - 1 hour.
    • Indianapolis International Airport (IND), Indianapolis, IN - 2 hours.

    Virginia Arise Challenge - 

    • TriCities Airport (TRI), Blountville, TN - 1 hour.
    • Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA), Roanoke, VA - 2 hours.
    • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Charlotte, NC - 3 hours.

    **All travel times listed are without traffic or delays. Please allow for extra travel time as needed.

  • What is included in the cost?

    This cost includes everything that is needed for your Arise Challenge experience excluding the items on your pack list. 


    Travel to/from the event location is not included.

  • Can I bring a team?

    Yes!

     

    During the registration process, you will have an option to list a team name or a friend's name and we will place you together on a team (teams consist of 10-12 women). If your group is less than ten, we will combine groups to make a complete team. 

     

    If you do not list a group/friend, we will assign you a team. 

     

    Many women complete an Arise Challenge without a group/friend! Do not fear coming alone as this makes for a very powerful experience! 

The Arise Challenge pushed me in ways I didn’t even anticipate would be a part of the weekend and showed me that there is still so much God desires to do in me and through me!
